We are thrilled (and slightly concerned) to announce that Kelly Clemmens has bravely agreed to join the Dornoch Gondola team as our new Embo Hostess. Kelly’s diverse background and adventuresome spirit suggest she’s well-prepared to handle the unique challenges and potential chaos that await her in this role.
Kelly hails from Dallas and has bounced around more places than a rogue gondola, living in California, Las Vegas, Ohio, and Charleston. Her childhood was marked by epic camping trips over the Continental Divide, and memorable flights in her father's Cessna, where silence was enforced at high altitudes. As an elementary school teacher, she’s a stickler for rules, which should come in handy as she navigates the aftermath of our recent advertisement debacle.
Speaking of debacles, Kelly joins us in the wake of a legendary blunder by Waylon Martini, our Director of Talent Management. Waylon’s typo transformed a simple job posting into a risqué headline, seeking "Embo's Hottest" instead of "Embo Hostess." Fortunately, Fiona Hampton, our new Director of Hostess Training and Discipline, is already cracking the whip (figuratively… we think) to set things straight.
Kelly’s induction to our merry band coincides with her recent marriage to Jack Clemens, our culinary wizard who learned to cook in an Italian prison. Yes, you read that right. Jack’s culinary journey began in the kitchen of Giovanni Bacchiddu Bancali Sardinia, where his "Compagni di Cella" (cellmates, for those who didn’t take Italian) taught him the ropes. His tales from those days leave us in stitches, as well as slightly wary of what's actually in the meatballs.
The newlyweds are off to Italy for their honeymoon, where Jack will presumably introduce Kelly to his 'past' – let's hope she enjoys a good caper, both in her food and in life. We expect her to return with some colorful stories and maybe a few new recipes that might not have come from your typical culinary school.
