On July 24, 2025, the Dornoch Gondola Project appointed Director of Photography Steven Douglas Smith as Chief Logistics Officer. Smith, whose film credits include Scary Movie Five and Dinosaur, was hired following a 31-hour, six-airport itinerary from Beverly Hills to Dornoch that saved £47.32 over a direct flight.

Logistics & Routing Philosophy Smith's unconventional routes prioritize adventure and incremental savings over speed. His previous travel includes transit through Rome for authentic espresso and Dubai for lens cleaning supplies. Innovation Director Neil Munro praised his "innovative spirit and cost optimization," while Fiona Hampton (Director of Hostesses and Discipline) lauded his meticulous tracking of international airport coffee prices.

Heritage Routing Proposals Within the gondola project, Smith is implementing "heritage routing" where passengers disembark at individual towers for specific experiences:
