Weight in the Air: RDGC Coin Drawn into Games Funds Speculation

DORNOCH — After Dornoch Highland Games organisers issued a second statement on the shock cancellation of the August event, and Police Scotland confirmed early enquiries into potential financial irregularities in the area between 2024 and 2026, a new and entirely unsolicited theory has entered the local conversation: that the Real Dornoch Gondola Coin (RDGC) may have been used to launder the pilfered funds.

The theory appears to rest on three pillars. First, the coin has the letters RDGC on it. Second, money is missing. Third, someone at The Eagle heard the word "blockchain" and nodded with the gravity of a man who has just remembered he left the kettle on.

Director of Crypto Currency Lucas Matusik, reached on extension 987 while still wearing a sample trucker, denied the charge with the calm of a man whose ledger is public on purpose. CEO Dr. Gary Bethune welcomed the investigation as a form of peer review. "We have documented extensively that the coin is a ledger of Highland transport ambition, not a laundry," he said. "Laundry requires water. We have a firth. Different thing." He added that anyone seeking to wash funds through a gondola coin would first have to find a gondola, which remains, in the strictest planning sense, forthcoming.

Station Master Stan Pennington, extension 00, said the company would cooperate fully with any enquiry that can be conducted in a one-way queue. "If the weight is in the air," he said, gesturing at the Games field in spirit, "keep your head down and let it land. Same principle as the cable."

Games president Jimmy Macdonald has said the committee knew nothing of certain "promises" until the investigation began, and that fundraising is paused until clearance is given. RDGC wishes the committee a swift return to good order, a strong future for the Games, and a clean distinction between community spirit and any coin whose primary yield remains, to date, conversation at the turn.
